Pint & Produce: The Green Dragon’s Local Ale Trail

Raise a glass to Herefordshire – one pint (and one bite) at a time.

There’s something special about a proper pint at your local – especially when that pint is brewed just down the road and paired with something hot and delicious from the Kitchen. At The Green Dragon, we believe that good beer deserves equally good company, and that’s where our Local Ale Trail comes in.

This spring and summer, we’re celebrating the region’s finest brewers and our own award-worthy bar snacks in one tasty little tradition: a self-guided ale trail, all under one roof.

Herefordshire in a Glass

We’re proud to pour beers from some of the county’s best-loved breweries – including Wye Valley Brewery, Ledbury Real Ales, and other small-batch producers who share our passion for local quality and flavour. Whether you’re into a crisp pale ale, a rich malty bitter, or a hoppy IPA, we rotate our taps regularly to keep things interesting and seasonal.

Not sure where to start? Ask our team for the latest pours – we’re always happy to guide you to something new.

A Snack for Every Sip

Of course, no good pint is complete without a proper bar snack – and ours are a cut above the usual fare. Designed to complement the bold, beautiful flavours of our local ales, our snack menu takes traditional pub favourites and gives them a Green Dragon twist.

Here’s what’s waiting for you on the board:

  • Crispy Chicken Wings – sticky, savoury, and made for messy fingers. Perfect with a cold pint of bitter.

  • Basket of Scampi – golden-fried, lightly salted, and served with homemade tartare. A natural partner to a crisp lager or pale ale.

  • Halloumi Fries – golden on the outside, gooey inside, with a chilli and herb dip. Vegetarian-friendly and beer-lover approved.

  • The Green Dragon Scotch Egg – free-range egg, seasoned sausage meat, and a crisp crumb. Bold, hearty, and deeply satisfying.

  • Deep-Fried Pheasant – a local favourite and one of our signatures. Tender, flavourful, and especially good with something malty.

  • Deep-Fried Rabbit – uniquely delicious and surprisingly moreish. Served with a punchy aioli and a nod to the countryside around us.

Make It a Mini Adventure

Whether you’re a local popping in after a country walk, or visiting Herefordshire for a weekend getaway, our Local Ale Trail is the perfect excuse to try something new. Mix and match pints and plates, take your time, and enjoy the relaxed rhythm of life at The Green Dragon.

Coming with friends? Build your own sharing board and sample your way through our ales together. We’ll keep the pints flowing.

No bookings required – just bring your appetite.
And don’t forget to ask about our Ale Trail Card – try five local beers and earn your sixth pint on us.

Eat well. Drink deeply. Stay a while.
– The Green Dragon Team
