Here at The Green Dragon, we’re celebrating the season with a new menu that blends traditional favourites with bold, seasonal ingredients from the Wye and Frome Valleys. Whether you’re craving something comforting or a little more contemporary, our kitchen has crafted dishes to suit every appetite – all served with our signature country charm.
A Fresh Start to Your Meal
Begin your visit with something light and nostalgic: our Classic Prawn Cocktail pairs plump prawns with crisp baby gem, cucumber ribbons, and a tangy Marie Rose sauce – a timeless favourite, elevated with a modern touch.

The Mains Event: Hearty, Honest & Flavour-Filled
Of course, no spring menu would be complete without a nod to the classics. Our Beer-Battered Fish & Chips is a pub staple for a reason – golden, flaky, and paired with hand-cut chips, mushy peas, and homemade tartare sauce. Simple, satisfying, and done just right.
For something heartier, try our Duck Cassoulet – a rich, slow-cooked dish with tender duck leg, cannellini beans, and smoky sausage. It’s our homage to rustic French cooking, perfect for those early spring days that still carry a bit of a chill.
Vegetarians will love our Spring Vegetable Risotto, made with the season’s best – asparagus, peas, mint, and a touch of lemon for brightness, finished with aged Parmesan and a drizzle of herb oil.
Craving something from the grill? Our Hereford Fillet Steak and Sirloin Steak are both sourced just a few miles away from trusted local farms. Cooked to your liking and served with triple-cooked chips, garlic-roasted tomatoes, and a choice of sauce – it’s Herefordshire on a plate.
